Some Top Tips for Building a Strong Marriage:
Gary: This is really the key to marriage: we have to have an attitude of love, that I’m here to serve, I’m here to help you become the person you believe God wants you to be. Whenever we have that on both sides, when it’s going both ways, then you’re going to have the kind of marriage you wanted to have, which is loving and supportive and caring.
I asked God to give me the attitude of Christ toward Karolyn. In retrospect, it’s the greatest prayer I ever prayed about my marriage.
God changed my heart and gave me a desire to serve her. And three questions made it practical after God changed my attitude that I’m here to serve her, not to tell her what to do:
What can I do to help you?
How can I make your life easier?
How can I be a better husband?
And she was willing to answer every one of those questions.
Karolyn: Believe you me, I was!
